Naomi Wood is a visiting scholar in the Science and Technology Studies Unit in the Department of Sociology at York University. Naomi has a BA in Peace Studies (University of Bradford) an MA in Medical Anthropology (School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London), and a PhD in Medical Sociology (University of Manchester). Her doctoral research, undertaken in a Chinese community centre in Manchester, explored the ways in which health and wellbeing are entangled with issues of identity and belonging within a migrant community. Her research interests centre around issues of space/place and health/wellbeing, in particular; therapeutic landscapes, healing and care in everyday contexts, identity, belonging and community, and migration and health.
