Erica Borgstrom is a medical anthropologist based at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine in the Department of Health Services Research and Policy. She currently holds a Foundation for the Sociology of Health and Illness Mildred Blaxter fellowship for her work on end-of-life care in England (2015/2016). Erica specialises in ethnographic and qualitative research methods and the use of social theory to understand issues of health, illness, and medicine. Prior to joining LSHTM, Erica worked and obtained her PhD at the University of Cambridge in the Department of Public Health and Primary Care on projects related to end-of-life care policy and practice. Erica is interested in how policies and objects – like documents – can shape care practices.
