Tanja Ahlin is a doctoral candidate at the University of Amsterdam (UvA), working in the fields of medical anthropology and science and technology studies (STS). Her main interests include care, aging, e-health, m-health, telemedicine, and qualitative methods (ethnography). She is currently writing up her thesis on everyday information and communication technologies (ICTs) and how they shape, and are in turn shaped by, elder care practices in Indian transnational families. Her supervisors are Jeannette Pols (UvA), Koen Peeters (ITM Antwerp) and Kasturi Sen (U Oxford).
Previously, Tanja has received an MA in Health and Society in South Asia from Heidelberg University, and she has a degree in anthropology and another one in translation.
