Shahd Alshammari is Assistant Professor of English literature. Her research interests include Women's Studies, Disability Studies, and critical race theory. She has authored 'Literary Madness' (2016) and her articles appeared in various academic and international journals. She has also published creative fiction in journals such as Pomona Valley Review, The Barefoot Review, Sukoon and others. Her Disability studies work has appeared in the Journal of Literary and and Cultural Disability Studies, Considering Disability, and the Journal of Middle East Women's Studies. Her first collection of short stories entitled 'Notes on the Flesh' (2017) deals with illness, love, and identity in the Middle East.
