Jennie Morgan is currently working as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of York on the ‘Curating Profusion’ project with Professor Sharon Macdonald, which is part of the AHRC-funded Assembling Alternative Futures for Heritage research programme. This extends her interests in materiality, objects, and caring specifically within a heritage context.
She previously worked as a postdoctoral researcher (2012-2015) on two Loughborough University occupational safety and health research projects, using a sensory ethnographic approach to understand how workers from across the healthcare, construction, and logistics sectors stayed safe at work. This resulted in writing, for example, around the materiality of tactile knowing amongst community healthcare workers, and more generally revealing tacit (or embodied, sensory, material, and affective) qualities of safe working.
