Anne-Lieke is finishing her Master's in Classical and Mediterranean Archaeology (Research) and Cultural Geography at the University of Groningen, the Netherlands. In her thesis research (Archaeology), she combines data from three disciplines to gain more insights on health and healing in classical Greece: archaeology, history and geography. She is especially interested in the analysis of anatomical votive reliefs and inscriptions, in combination with written sources and healing characteristics of the landscape. Since January 2017, she started blogging for The Votives Project, analysing various aspects of anatomical votive reliefs.

Though her current research focusses on ancient Greece, she is also fascinated by healing centres (or places) Central Italy, until the first century BC. Furthermore, she is interested in the value of healing centres as heritage sites.
